Notifications and help

Get a notification when a task needs you, when one finishes, or when a meeting is about to start, and reach us from inside the app.

Notifications

Settings → Notifications has these switches: A task needs you (a question, an approval, something to sign), A task is finished, Meeting reminders for notes, and Sounds. You get one notification per task each time it changes, and none for the task you're looking at.

Meeting reminders

With Google Calendar or Outlook connected, about a minute before a meeting that has a video link or other people in it, you get "Your 2:00 Weekly sync is starting · Take notes?" on every device with notifications on (and as a banner in an open app). Tap it and Live notes opens in a new task named after the meeting, ready to listen. It's on by default; turn it off in Settings → Notifications.

On this device

Under This device, turn on notifications for the computer or phone you're using, and tap Send a test. Each device is turned on separately.

  • iPhone or iPad: add 1Helm to your home screen first, open it from there, then turn them on.
  • Android: in Chrome, or from the installed app on your home screen.
  • A computer: in the browser, or from 1Helm installed as an app.

If a test doesn't show, the page says whether it reached the device and which system settings to check (like Focus or Do Not Disturb).

Also text me when a task needs you: once texting is set up, you can get a text too, only when you're not watching that task in the app.

Report an issue

Something look wrong? Settings → Help & support → Report an issue (also in the side rail's menu and the phone's Settings button) takes a short note and an optional screenshot. The app adds its version, your device and window size, and its recent error lines, so we can see what happened.
