Memory
Your helper keeps a Notebook. It writes down what it learns while it works, so you don't repeat yourself.
What goes in the Notebook
The Notebook has sections: Overview, About you, How you like things, People, Accounts & places and Right now. For example:
- How you like things done ("emails are short, sign off with — M").
- People and places that come up ("Jonathon is the contractor").
- Rules you've given it ("never touch column F").
- What's going on right now ("the Kyoto trip is Nov 2–12").
Each note says where it came from: "You told me", or the task where it was learned.
Seeing and editing it
Open Notebook in the channel's side panel. Everything is in plain words. Add, edit or delete anything. Your helper uses the change starting with your next task. Deleting a note removes it from your helper's memory too (you can undo it in the moment right after; then it's gone for good).
Telling it to remember
Say "remember that…" in any task. Or just correct it: when you say "no, we always bill at milestones", it saves the correction. When it asks which email account to check and you answer, that's saved too, so it won't ask again for the same thing.
Forgetting something
Say "forget that" or "don't remember this about me". Your helper finds everything memory holds about it (Notebook notes, saved facts, Contacts facts, and what it drew from conversations), shows you, and asks once. After your yes, it deletes those and stops background memory from learning it again. The conversation itself stays in the chat; delete the chat to remove that too.
Learning in the background
Between conversations, quiet upkeep keeps memory current: facts you stated, the people you talk about, and a nightly "How to work with you" note. It never messages you, and it saves only what your own words back up. See Background memory.
How it knows
Ask "how do you know that?" and your helper shows where a memory came from: when it was saved, how (you said it, you edited the Notebook, it came from a text), in which task, and whether it's still current.
Get to know you
New accounts get an optional Get to know you task in General: about 3 minutes of tap-to-answer questions, all skippable. Each answer becomes a Notebook note, and "Do you use any of these apps?" tells your helper which apps to offer when they come up (see Apps I use).
From your Bee
With a Bee connected, facts Bee has confirmed about you come in as From Bee notes, and new ones wait in a New from Bee stack at the top of the Notebook: one card at a time with Approve, Edit, Deny or Skip (swipe on a phone). Your changes go back to your Bee too. Your finished Bee conversations also reach General's memory.
Your helper can also look up the separately indexed original speech and source-backed tasks, ideas and reminders. See Ambient recall.
