Meet your helper
In this first lesson you'll set up your helper, give it one real thing to do, and see why it remembers what it learns.
Pick a character and a name
When you sign up, you choose what your helper looks like, what it's called and how it talks. Skipper is the default. Pick a name you'll enjoy texting. You'll see it a lot.
Give it something real
Press New (or ⌘ ⇧ O, Ctrl on Windows) in General. Don't test it with trivia. Give it a small chore you'd actually do today: a bill to pay, an appointment to book, a form to fill out. Helpers do best with real work, and you'll learn more from watching one real task than from ten questions.
Open Activity in the task header to see each step it took, in plain words.
Why it gets better
As it works, your helper writes down what it learns in its Notebook: your car, your state, that you like being asked before it pays. Next time, you don't explain it again. That's the whole idea behind 1Helm. The tenth task is easier than the first.
