## Lower cost for Bee conversation pick-up

Release 53, October 20, 2026

### Improved

- Bee conversations are now extracted into tasks, ideas and reminders only after the conversation has finished, or after 30 minutes with no new speech, and at most once every 30 minutes, which lowers the background cost. Read more: [Ambient recall](https://1helm.com/docs/ambient/recall-preview.md)
- Your Bee speech is still saved and searchable right away, so your helper can read what you just said before it has been extracted. Read more: [Ambient recall](https://1helm.com/docs/ambient/recall-preview.md)
- Bee recordings with no real words are skipped, and a finished recording is no longer extracted again when a later recording mentions similar words. Read more: [Ambient recall](https://1helm.com/docs/ambient/recall-preview.md)

## Live notes naming and transcripts, and smoother app connecting

Release 52, October 20, 2026

### Improved

- Live notes now keeps each meeting's raw transcript as a hidden file that your helper can read during and after the meeting. Read more: [Live notes](https://1helm.com/docs/ambient/live-notes.md)
- The Live notes file is now named with the meeting's date and time, and it follows the task's title when the title changes. Read more: [Live notes](https://1helm.com/docs/ambient/live-notes.md)
- A task still called Live notes now gets a real title when the meeting ends. Read more: [Live notes](https://1helm.com/docs/ambient/live-notes.md)

### Fixed

- The Live notes saved line in the task now names the notes file under the task's new title. Read more: [Live notes](https://1helm.com/docs/ambient/live-notes.md)
- Connecting several accounts quickly no longer lands on a Too many requests page, because the Connect button now waits quietly and then opens the sign-in page. Read more: [Connecting apps](https://1helm.com/docs/apps.md)

## Release 51, October 20, 2026

### New

- New chats are named as soon as you send the first message, using a title of 3 to 7 words, and your own renames always win. Task summaries now run for every finished task.

### Fixed

- Live notes run on their configured models again. Notes built during a meeting keep a short summary that grows with the meeting, and final notes have a section for each topic. Read more: [Live notes](https://1helm.com/docs/ambient/live-notes.md)
- A Bee speaker card in the Notebook now goes away once no possible match is left. The card leaves after Accept, after naming the speaker, and after Not them on the last match. Read more: [Bee](https://1helm.com/docs/ambient/bee.md)

## Release 49, October 19, 2026

### Fixed

- Your helper no longer says it is the same in every channel with nothing else doing the work. It now explains that each channel keeps its own memory, and that background helpers do parts of bigger jobs. Read more: [Your helper and channels](https://1helm.com/docs/helpers.md)

## Release 47, October 18, 2026

### Improved

- The first time your helper writes a web page, it now gets a design brief with real site references, colors, fonts and layout rules. One design source follows your AI privacy level and has its own switch in Settings, then Advanced. Read more: [AI data privacy](https://1helm.com/docs/privacy/ai.md)

## Release 46, October 18, 2026

### Improved

- Pages, slide decks and designed PDFs your helper makes now start from design references and design systems. A website on your own domain goes live in a single step. Read more: [Skills](https://1helm.com/docs/skills.md)
- Your helper no longer opens or ends replies with your name, and it uses no emoji unless you do. It also stops using flattery and reassurance.

### Fixed

- When you ask for changes to something your helper made, even after you published it, it now updates the same file and its published page instead of making a new copy. Read more: [Library](https://1helm.com/docs/library.md)
- The referral note no longer shows on every share and publish screen in the Library. It stays on the affiliate dashboard.

## Release 45, October 18, 2026

### Fixed

- When your helper replied with only a promise like "reading it now" and did nothing, the turn ended there. It is now told once to do the work and answer.
- The Activity button is back in the task header, and in the more menu on phones, so you can see what your helper did. Read more: [While it works](https://1helm.com/docs/working.md)

## Release 44, October 18, 2026

### Improved

- In tasks that use background helpers, you can watch the helper use the browser, take control and hand back to the same helper. A helper can use your saved logins after approval. Read more: [Its computer and the web](https://1helm.com/docs/computer.md)
- The helper's live browser card and screenshots show in your chat, including after a reload. Read more: [Its computer and the web](https://1helm.com/docs/computer.md)
- The Notebook pages and About you now refresh twice a day instead of after every conversation. Your facts, notes and memory search are unchanged. Read more: [Memory](https://1helm.com/docs/memory.md)

### Fixed

- Adding a custom MCP server no longer fails with the message that the host name does not exist. Read more: [Custom MCP connections](https://1helm.com/docs/apps/custom-mcp.md)
- Opening the app twice during onboarding no longer causes a clash in the Get to know you interview.

## Release 43, October 18, 2026

### New

- Add credits asks you to confirm before charging, showing the amount and your saved card with Confirm and Cancel buttons. Read more: [Plans and usage](https://1helm.com/docs/billing.md)

### Fixed

- Credits you buy now count toward the month's usage. The usage bar changes right after Add credits, and the 50 and 80 percent warnings measure against them. Read more: [Plans and usage](https://1helm.com/docs/billing.md)
- A task waiting on you shows a still helper icon instead of a frozen orb. Phones set to reduce motion see the orb move slowly.
- A restart in the middle of a task no longer ends it with an error saying your update could not be confirmed. A background job also no longer stays on Reviewing result forever.

## Quieter progress and app fixes

Release 42, October 17, 2026

### Improved

- Each turn shows one progress row, a single orb with two lines of text, from send to answer. The N tasks working pill is gone, and each task keeps its own Stop button. Read more: [While it works](https://1helm.com/docs/working.md)
- When your helper hands a job to a background helper, it briefly acknowledges it with a line such as "On it." or "Let me take a look." A follow up you send while the job runs is answered "Got it."
- Apps can send a whole file's contents, such as a web page to GitHub, without your helper retyping it. App errors now name the field that was wrong. Read more: [Files and apps](https://1helm.com/docs/apps/files.md)
- Cloudflare is offered only through its MCP connection, so your helper never asks you for Cloudflare API keys. A request to put a website live on your own domain starts from the website setup guide. Read more: [Connecting apps](https://1helm.com/docs/apps.md)
- An open app tab now reloads itself when a newer version is released, at a moment when nothing is being typed, uploaded or recorded.

### Fixed

- Background helpers always stop at their time, step and cost limits, even with Pause to check spending off. A run that keeps repeating the same call is stopped, and it reports what it is stuck on. Read more: [While it works](https://1helm.com/docs/working.md)
- Your helper no longer starts replies with "Near" and your city. It uses your location quietly and names the area only in an answer that is actually local. Read more: [Location and microphone](https://1helm.com/docs/location.md)
- Files open again in the viewer. A file's text now reaches your message even when you send right after uploading. Read more: [Library](https://1helm.com/docs/library.md)
- The time no longer pops up wherever the mouse rests in a chat after you send a message.

## Release 40, October 17, 2026

### Improved

- Location text no longer gives a distance. It now says what your location is used for and that only the latest one is kept. Read more: [Location and microphone](https://1helm.com/docs/location.md)
- Descriptions of pictures and videos can be much longer. Read more: [Library](https://1helm.com/docs/library.md)

## Release 39, October 16, 2026

### Improved

- The activity orb under the current message replaces the history of progress notes, and the live steps and Activity controls are simpler. A finished task shows as complete without waiting for its label. Read more: [While it works](https://1helm.com/docs/working.md)

## Messages, voice and limits

Release 38, October 16, 2026

### New

- Settings, then Advanced, has account referral links and an optional affiliate program with US withdrawals. You can choose your own referral code, and the affiliate agreement shows before the dashboard.
- Your helper can send native Messages polls, and each vote is matched to the original question. Read more: [The app and texting](https://1helm.com/docs/reaching.md)

### Improved

- Voice recordings you send by text are now transcribed, and files in your helper's replies arrive as iMessage attachments. Read more: [The app and texting](https://1helm.com/docs/reaching.md)
- Messages cards are easier to use, and replies stay attached to their original question and task. Read more: [The app and texting](https://1helm.com/docs/reaching.md)
- Your helper can ask you questions during longer work, and your card answers stay attached across the chat and Messages.
- Higher limits now apply, including 100 channels, 6 tasks working at once in a channel, 20,000 contacts, 500 scheduled messages and 50 custom MCP servers. App workflows now tell you when events are skipped.
- An activity orb shows below the current message while your helper responds and background helpers work. Read more: [While it works](https://1helm.com/docs/working.md)

### Fixed

- When every computer is in use, your helper now says "All computers are busy right now. Try again in a minute." instead of hanging for a minute. Read more: [Its computer and the web](https://1helm.com/docs/computer.md)
- The mobile chat stays visible when the keyboard opens.

## New Notebook and memory changes

Release 37, October 15, 2026

### New

- The Notebook is now a page for each topic, which are About you, People, Places, Routines and What's going on. Your helper writes the pages from its memory, and each page opens right away. Read more: [Memory](https://1helm.com/docs/memory.md)
- A facts box shows your avatar, and your edits are saved as corrections. Read more: [Memory](https://1helm.com/docs/memory.md)
- When a web page shows something your helper cannot read as text, such as a chart, a map or pictures, it can now look at the page, read the text on the screen and click where it needs to. The picture is described and thrown away, never saved. Read more: [Its computer and the web](https://1helm.com/docs/computer.md)
- Videos you add get a short description of what they show and any text on screen, above the transcript. Audio inside uploaded files such as mp3, m4a and mp4 is now transcribed. Read more: [Library](https://1helm.com/docs/library.md)

### Improved

- Everything in a channel now goes into its memory, including whole conversations, every Notebook note and edit, Library files, live notes, skills, checklists and contacts. Something you just told your helper can be used right away, and when you move, your new home replaces the old one. Read more: [How memory is saved](https://1helm.com/docs/memory/background.md)
- Your helper keeps a short profile of you in every chat and uses memory without announcing it. It can correct a wrong memory after you confirm. Read more: [Memory](https://1helm.com/docs/memory.md)
- General asks "Inspect other channels?" before looking in your other channels, unless you choose to always allow it. Read more: [Memory](https://1helm.com/docs/memory.md)
- Saying "forget it" no longer deletes anything, and it is remembered like any other message. To remove something, delete it yourself in the Notebook, Contacts, the Library or the chat. Read more: [Memory](https://1helm.com/docs/memory.md)
- Dictation is quieter, with no status text under the box and a pulsing red cursor while recording. Text shows when you pause, and speech to text is more accurate. Read more: [Tasks](https://1helm.com/docs/tasks.md)
- Things you say near your Bee are no longer lost when the transcript wording does not match exactly. Your helper can find them by meaning, and anything it cannot confirm word for word is shown as "possibly said". Read more: [Ambient recall](https://1helm.com/docs/ambient/recall-preview.md)
- Your helper now writes in plain, everyday words, with complete sentences and no jargon or dashes. The same style applies to task titles, live notes, file summaries and Notebook items.
- Scanned PDF pages are read faster and a little more accurately. Read more: [Library](https://1helm.com/docs/library.md)
- Pause to check spending is now off by default, and Agent check ins is a switch that is off by default. The app asks for notification permission on its own. Read more: [Asking first and permissions](https://1helm.com/docs/approvals.md)
- Edits by your helper update the same file instead of making copies named "name (2)", and your uploaded original is always kept. Bee speakers also get a New speaker detected card. Read more: [Library](https://1helm.com/docs/library.md)
- The app starts loading your data sooner and keeps its files cached between visits. Long conversations also load more smoothly.

### Fixed

- The unread dot in task lists now sits on the right of each row, clear of the checkbox.

## Background helpers and lower cost advice

Release 36, October 12, 2026

### New

- Your helper can hand independent parts of a request to background helpers and give them recent task context. It can also check on or steer them while they run. Read more: [Plans and brain dumps](https://1helm.com/docs/plans.md)

### Improved

- When you leave a choice to your helper, such as where to host a site or buy a domain, it recommends one low cost option with a monthly total and mentions Cloudflare once. When you name a vendor, it does what you asked and states the price including renewal.
- Quick browser jobs answer in the same reply. Longer jobs move to the background after about 45 seconds and report back as a new message. Read more: [Its computer and the web](https://1helm.com/docs/computer.md)
- Cards you skip fold into a small Skipped line when you send your next message, including unanswered connect and share suggestions.
- A note General saves in another channel's Notebook is always in that channel's context on its next turn. Every channel also sees your shared address book, so a contact you added is known right away. Read more: [Contacts](https://1helm.com/docs/contacts.md), [Memory](https://1helm.com/docs/memory.md)
- Saving a fact about a thing, such as a gate code, no longer creates a contact. Only people and organizations go into Contacts. Read more: [Contacts](https://1helm.com/docs/contacts.md)

### Fixed

- A reply that was stopped partway could be charged at a higher price than it cost, and it is now charged at the real price. Read more: [Plans and usage](https://1helm.com/docs/billing.md)
- A looping task is now caught sooner. Your helper also tells you plainly when a step tried to do too many things at once. Read more: [While it works](https://1helm.com/docs/working.md)
- Logging out fully ends your session before returning to the sign in page.
- The card that says your helper is using the browser now goes away by itself when the task finishes. A helper's raw report also no longer shows up in the chat.
- Hovering over a message to show its copy and reply buttons no longer makes the messages below it jump.
- A message you type into a handed off task's card shows again. A chat started with only a file keeps the file name as its title.
- A computer hold left behind by an update no longer blocks browser tasks for long. It now clears within minutes. Read more: [Its computer and the web](https://1helm.com/docs/computer.md)

## Release 35, October 12, 2026

### New

- Settings, then Advanced, now has Share diagnostic data, which lets you give 1Helm support access, confirmed by email, when you ask for help. Read more: [Share diagnostic data](https://1helm.com/docs/privacy/diagnostics.md)

### Fixed

- Meeting notes keep explicit commitments along with nearby refusals and uncertainty. Refinements are based on the transcript. Read more: [Live notes](https://1helm.com/docs/ambient/live-notes.md)
- Tasks captured from Bee recordings keep spoken evidence that a task was completed. Read more: [Ambient recall](https://1helm.com/docs/ambient/recall-preview.md)

## Release 34, October 11, 2026

### Improved

- Connected accounts is now a compact list that opens each app's detail page. Ambient is now an overview, with Bee settings on their own page. Read more: [Settings and your account](https://1helm.com/docs/settings.md)
- New chats get short titles of 2 to 4 words, and names you choose yourself stay unchanged.
- The list of apps in the quiz was removed from Settings. Your helper still remembers which apps you use, and you can change them by telling your helper. Read more: [Settings and your account](https://1helm.com/docs/settings.md)

### Fixed

- Finished replies show only the answer, while progress and saved memory stay in the task card.
- The task tools menu fits its buttons without a large empty area.
- Your helper now checks calculations with money, percentages and splits using exact arithmetic.

## Bee recordings become searchable

Release 33, October 11, 2026

### New

- Your Bee recordings now become searchable tasks, ideas and memories. You can ask your helper to recall Bee tasks and places, and you can add your own phrases that make nearby thoughts easier to find. Read more: [Ambient recall](https://1helm.com/docs/ambient/recall-preview.md)
- Your helper in General can read and update tasks and to-do lists across your channels. It can also create channels and start tasks there with a to-do list. Read more: [Your helper and channels](https://1helm.com/docs/helpers.md)

### Improved

- Ambient recall tells real intentions from examples and keeps reminder corrections. It checks tasks against the speech around them before saving, and it avoids resolving the wrong request when names conflict. Read more: [Ambient recall](https://1helm.com/docs/ambient/recall-preview.md)
- When General starts a task, it writes a clear handoff from the conversation and carries your choices forward instead of copying your last message. Read more: [Tasks](https://1helm.com/docs/tasks.md)

## Release 32, October 10, 2026

### New

- The spending and workload check in pauses are now optional in Settings. Read more: [Asking first and permissions](https://1helm.com/docs/approvals.md)

### Improved

- Photo and file previews are now compact squares that open when you click them. Read more: [Library](https://1helm.com/docs/library.md)
- Your helper shows one progress note at a time with smooth replacement. Earlier notes are kept in the history.

### Fixed

- Web links in your helper's messages open in a new tab and keep your chat.
- The task card stays on one line on desktop and phones.

## Release 31, October 10, 2026

### New

- You can rename a task from its title or the three dot menu.
- You can dictate at your text cursor and resize or hide the sidebar. Your helper's checklist updates now show automatically.

## Custom MCP connections and a global timer

Release 29, October 10, 2026

### New

- Settings has a new Advanced page with Custom MCP connections, which is experimental and off by default. When you turn it on, you can connect your own remote MCP server, and your helper asks permission before using any of its tools. Read more: [Custom MCP connections](https://1helm.com/docs/apps/custom-mcp.md)
- Starting a focus timer inside a task now asks whether it is for this task or everything, and a global timer keeps running as you move between tasks and channels. New keyboard shortcuts start, pause and stop it. Read more: [Tasks](https://1helm.com/docs/tasks.md)
- You can change keyboard shortcuts in Settings. New task is now Command or Ctrl plus Shift plus O, because browsers keep Command N for themselves. Read more: [The app and texting](https://1helm.com/docs/reaching.md)
- You can copy or reply to a single chat bubble.

### Improved

- Replies now show only the answer, and your helper's progress notes fold into a collapsed note above it. Texts carry only the answer too.

### Fixed

- Replies no longer repeat the same progress line, and a reply shows as one message bubble instead of one for each sentence.

## Swipe navigation on phones

Release 28, October 10, 2026

### New

- On a phone you can swipe to open and close panels, and swipe back from Settings pages and action rows. Read more: [The app and texting](https://1helm.com/docs/reaching.md)
- You can also swipe down to dismiss sheets and popups, and swipe right in Home or a task to open the task panel. Read more: [The app and texting](https://1helm.com/docs/reaching.md)
- Your helper can open Settings directly from its advice. Wallet has links to download Link for iOS or Android.

### Fixed

- A task card recovers when a reply goes silent, and a stalled reply is stopped instead of hanging.
- Your helper's internal tool documentation no longer shows in task results. The touch Reply and Copy shortcuts also no longer cover the task card steps button.
- In Passwords and keys, long website names stay clear of the Edit and Remove buttons on narrow screens. The Appearance buttons also fit evenly. Read more: [Settings and your account](https://1helm.com/docs/settings.md)

## Secure connections and Live notes from Home

### New

- You can start Live notes directly from Home without sending a chat message. Read more: [Live notes](https://1helm.com/docs/ambient/live-notes.md)

- Confirmation cards are now limited to payments and API keys. Your helper also keeps the relationship wording you used for a contact, such as "my boss", and large contact imports stay responsive. Read more: [Asking first and permissions](https://1helm.com/docs/approvals.md)

### Fixed

- Browser tasks now read your new messages at the next safe point instead of carrying on with old instructions. Read more: [Its computer and the web](https://1helm.com/docs/computer.md)
- Onboarding remembers your location and microphone choices, and it no longer shows Soon for iPhone or repeats reply style questions. Get to know you now waits for you to tap Next.
- Connected accounts are identified consistently, and Zoom shows each account's email. Accounts that share a name or email are no longer merged into one. Read more: [Connecting apps](https://1helm.com/docs/apps.md)
- Adding a PayPal key now opens a secure account specific setup instead of failing. Read more: [Connecting apps](https://1helm.com/docs/apps.md)

- You can copy inline code, keys and code blocks directly from the chat with small copy icons. Long keys and code stay inside chat bubbles on desktop and phones.
- Your helper's computer can connect to your own servers over SSH and join your Tailscale network, and each connection needs your approval. - You can choose an AI data privacy level in onboarding and in Settings, either Unrestricted, No Training or Zero Data Retention. Every AI request is checked against your choice before it is sent, and existing accounts stay on Zero Data Retention. Read more: [AI data privacy](https://1helm.com/docs/privacy/ai.md)
- Live notes can listen to a meeting tab such as Meet, Zoom web or Teams web, so other people's voices are captured even with headphones on. A minute before a calendar meeting you also get a reminder offering to take notes. Read more: [Live notes](https://1helm.com/docs/ambient/live-notes.md)
- Get to know you asks which apps you use, so your helper knows which apps to offer. You can edit the list in Settings under Connected accounts. Read more: [Settings and your account](https://1helm.com/docs/settings.md)
- You can hover over a message, or press and hold on a phone, to copy it or reply to it. A reply pins a quote above the text box, and your helper knows which message you are replying to.
- Sentinel now checks everything the helper's computer sends out. Saved keys only reach the site they belong to, and anything that sends data to an outside site waits for your OK. Read more: [Sentinel](https://1helm.com/docs/security/sentinel.md)

### Improved

## Release 24, October 8, 2026

- With your own AI key, you can choose Sign in with OpenRouter, approve it there, and then pick your model from a searchable list without pasting a key. Read more: [Use your own AI key](https://1helm.com/docs/billing/byok.md)
- Your helper can look up flights, hotels, restaurants, shopping, stocks, maps, news and papers with live search tools. It also has quick routes for weather, events, Yelp and similar services, so answers come from real data. Read more: [Its computer and the web](https://1helm.com/docs/computer.md)

### Fixed

- An update to 1Helm no longer interrupts work that is running. Chats, scheduled workflows, background helpers and text replies pick up where they left off, and nothing that sends or acts is repeated.
- On tablets and medium width screens, the task header no longer runs under the computer button. Its actions fold into a menu in a set order.

## Release 23, October 7, 2026

### New

- Workflows that run when something happens in a connected app, such as a new email from a person, can now run for your account. Read more: [When something happens](https://1helm.com/docs/apps/events.md)

- The combined Google connection was replaced by the individual Google apps, which are Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Tasks, Meet and Photos. A combined connection you already had keeps working. Read more: [Google](https://1helm.com/docs/apps/google.md)
- Dozens of apps that showed Connect but could do nothing now work. Some apps that said Soon now work without a sign in, and popular apps offer many more actions. Read more: [Connecting apps](https://1helm.com/docs/apps.md)
- Contacts handles large address books, with A to Z sections, a letter rail and instant search. Each contact can have several labelled numbers and emails, and Merge also suggests possible duplicates. Read more: [Contacts](https://1helm.com/docs/contacts.md)
- Memory is kept separately for each channel, so a fact you tell one channel stays there. Only your helper in General can read and write across every channel. Read more: [Memory](https://1helm.com/docs/memory.md)
- Your helper understands dates like "yesterday", "last week" and "in September" in your time zone, and it says plainly when a name or number was never mentioned. Read more: [Memory](https://1helm.com/docs/memory.md)
- Things your helper remembers now appear as Notebook rows right away. The Notebook has a new overview with a card for each section, tabs with counts, and a way to dismiss the How this works note. Read more: [Memory](https://1helm.com/docs/memory.md)

- You can swipe a channel sheet down to close it on a phone.
- Confirmations in the app, such as deleting a file or disconnecting an app, use 1Helm's own dialog instead of the browser's pop up. Leaving a form with unsaved changes asks whether to save them.
