# Text it from anywhere

> Once texting is on, your helper is in your pocket. Text it in line at the store, in the car (when parked!) or from the couch.

## Turn it on

**Settings → Texting → Set up**. Enter your US cell number, create the free texting account we walk you through, then text the 6-digit code to the number on the page. Your helper texts back with a contact card. Save it.

## What to text

- Quick asks: "what time does Costco close?"
- Hand-offs: "book a dentist cleaning next week, mornings"
- Answers: when it texts "Pay the $142 bill?", just reply "yes"
- Photos and documents: a receipt, a form, a flyer

## Where texts go

All your texts land in General, in one task called "Text with" your helper's name, under **Texts**. On an iPhone you get tappable cards and tapbacks; Android phones get plain text messages.

## Or add it to your home screen

Prefer the app? Tap **Install 1Helm app** in Settings (or add 1Helm to your phone's home screen) and it opens full screen, like an app. From there you can turn on notifications in **Settings → Notifications**.

**Try it:** Text your helper one thing you'd normally write on a sticky note.
