# Settings and your account

> Everything you can set lives in Settings. Here's what each part is for.

Section: Getting started

## Opening Settings

On a computer, click your initials at the bottom of the side rail (or `⌘` `,`). On a phone, tap the button at the bottom left of the menu, then **Settings**.

## The sections

Your helper's name, look and tone can't be changed in Settings yet.

## Your account

**Settings → General → Your account** has your name (what your helper calls you), your sign-in email and your signed-in devices.

- **No passwords.** You sign in with a 6-digit code or a one-time link emailed to you. See [Signing in](https://1helm.com/docs/reaching/#signing-in).
- **Change your email:** we send a one-time link to the new address. Nothing changes until you open it, and the old address is told.
- **Signed-in devices:** every device you're signed in on, each with **Sign out**, plus **Sign out all other devices**.

## Apps I use

The **Get to know you** task asks "Do you use any of these apps?" (pick any of 30, or none). Your helper then knows which apps you use, and when one comes up that isn't connected, it offers to connect it. It never connects anything itself. Change the list any time in **Settings → Connected accounts → Apps I use**, or just tell your helper.

## Unsaved changes

If you leave a contact, a note, a login, your account name or the AI key form with changes you haven't saved, 1Helm asks first: **Save**, **Discard** or **Keep editing**. Closing or reloading the tab warns you too.
