# Share diagnostic data

> Optional, email-confirmed access that helps 1Helm investigate a chat without asking you to copy it out.

Section: Trust

> **Optional and off by default.** Confirming diagnostic sharing also permits evaluation with support and AI tools selected by 1Helm, including tools without zero data retention (non-ZDR).

## Your choice, off by default

**Share diagnostic data** lets 1Helm request filtered copies of specific, already-retained account records to investigate problems. Access uses an internal, authenticated, read-only API; it is not a public sharing link and doesn't let support sign in as you, run tools or act in your connected apps.

1. Open **Settings → Advanced → Share diagnostic data** and choose to enable it.
2. We send a separate **six-digit confirmation code** to your account email. Enter it in the signed-in session where you requested it. It expires after 15 minutes.
3. Access starts only after confirmation. A pending request or a sign-in code does not enable it.

While enabled, this permission covers retained records from before and after you turned it on. You aren't asked to approve each diagnostic request separately.

## What 1Helm can inspect

Each request selects the account records it needs, such as a channel, chat, time window or particular type of data. Depending on what was saved, that can include:

- Chat and model messages, tool instructions and results, events, errors, timing and usage.
- Task state, helpers, plans, approvals, pauses, workflow records and retained progress checkpoints.
- Current settings and tool availability, connection metadata, Notebook and memory records, and recall receipts.
- File metadata, processing status and already-prepared attachment text, but not original attachment binaries.

Some information is account- or channel-wide rather than specific to one chat. The API identifies that scope. It cannot recover deleted or unrecorded information, reconstruct settings that weren't saved at the time, or guarantee that every problem can be reproduced.

## Filtering happens when requested

Turning this on does not start a rolling recording or make a second store of redacted conversations. When 1Helm requests a record, the API filters it in memory before returning the diagnostic response. Saved credential stores and credential fields are excluded; detected secrets are removed and recognized personal identifiers are replaced with placeholders.

**Redacted does not mean anonymous.** Filtering can miss identifying details, and a conversation's context can still identify you or someone else. Missing records and processing limits are reported, not silently presented as a complete history.

## Turning it off and deleting data

Turn the switch off in **Settings → Advanced** to stop subsequent diagnostic reads and cancel a pending confirmation. This does not undo information already returned to support, and it doesn't delete your original chats or other workspace data.

The original records keep their ordinary retention and deletion rules. The API does not save its response bodies. We keep consent and access metadata, such as when access happened, the requested resource and its outcome, without the conversation content. That metadata can remain after you disable sharing or delete a chat; account deletion removes the account's diagnostic consent and access records.

## Separate from AI data privacy

1Helm may evaluate returned diagnostic information using support and AI tools selected at its discretion, including tools without zero data retention (non-ZDR). Your [AI data privacy](https://1helm.com/docs/privacy/ai/) setting does not apply to these separate support tools. Their terms and practices govern retention and deletion, including any permitted use for model improvement or training. We do not promise a fixed retention period or that disabling sharing or deleting your account erases information already received by those tools.

The diagnostic API itself does not call AI models or connected apps, and does not save its response bodies. That does not describe how support tools handle information already returned. Turning sharing off stops future diagnostic access; it does not recall recipient copies.
