# Live notes

> Your helper takes meeting notes as the conversation happens, from this device's microphone, a meeting tab, or your Bee, and saves them to your Library.

Section: Live notes and Bee

## Start Live notes

Open any task (a new one or one you already use for a meeting) and tap **Live notes** in the task header. Pick what it listens to:

| Input | Good for |
|---|---|
| This device's microphone | Hears the room. Keep 1Helm open while it listens. |
| A meeting tab (Meet, Zoom web, Teams web…) | Hears everyone in the call, even with headphones on. You pick the tab and turn on "Share tab audio" (Chrome or Edge on a computer). **Also record my microphone** adds your side. On Windows, sharing the entire screen with system audio also hears the Zoom or Teams app. |
| Your Bee | Follows what your [Bee](https://1helm.com/docs/ambient/bee/) hears, when one is connected. |

Before it starts, 1Helm reminds you to make sure everyone's OK with being recorded.

## While it listens

- The notes fill in beside the chat (on a phone, switch between **Chat** and **Notes**), in sections: **Summary**, **Decisions**, **Action items** (with who and when), **Open questions** and **Notes**. New lines show up about 15 seconds after they're said.
- A chip shows it's live, for how long, and what it has cost so far.
- Ask your helper in the chat about what was just said, or to add an action item. Your own edits to the notes always win.

## Stop and save

Tap **Stop** (or say "stop live notes"). Your helper writes the final notes and saves them to the channel's [Library](https://1helm.com/docs/library/) under **Meetings**. For a meeting that repeats, like a weekly 1:1, keep using the same task: each session is added as its own section, newest on top, and earlier sessions are never rewritten.

With a Bee, once Bee finishes processing the conversation, you may get an **Update your meeting notes?** card listing the exact changes its cleaned-up transcript suggests, with **Apply** and **Don't apply**. Nothing changes unless you tap Apply.

## Meeting reminders

With Google Calendar or Outlook connected, about a minute before a meeting with a video link or other people in it, you get "Your 2:00 Weekly sync is starting · Take notes?". Tap it and Live notes opens in a new task named after the meeting, set to listen to a meeting tab. Turn reminders off in **Settings → Notifications**.

## Limits and cost

- After an hour in the task, it asks "Still in the meeting?"; with no answer in 5 minutes, it stops and saves. If you leave the task or the app for 30 minutes, it stops and saves too. Every stop saves the notes, so nothing is lost.
- Live notes cost about 5–12¢ an hour, billed like other usage, and a session never goes past $1.
- Recordings from this device or a meeting tab are turned into text and not kept as audio.
